How much do you charge for
embroidery work?
Currently, the industry standard for embroidery work is $1 per 1000 stitches.
Often times companies will charge an additional hooping fee, which is a base
fee for securing the fabric in the embroidery hoop.
Fussybutt charges $1 per 1000
stitches for embroidery in addition to the cost of the item that is being embroidered
on. For example, a Fuzzi Bunz with a 10,000 stitch design would cost a total
of $24.95. Generally, we do not charge a hooping fee although there may be a
minimal charge for embroidering on items not purchased from Fussybutt or for
embroidering an oversized design on clothing. An oversized design would be anything
larger than four inches square. Any variations in the standard embroidery fees
are based on size, complexity, and color changes within a design.
Do you embroider diapers and
other items not purchased directly from Fussybutt?
We are happy to embroider most items that customers send to us. There are
some limitations to the kinds of items we can embroider so this is done on a
case-by-case basis. We usually do not embroider used pocket diapers because
it is difficult to waterproof the embroidery due of a reaction with laundry
detergent. We also do not recommend embroidering on an already sewn together
diaper cover as there is no way to adequately seal the embroidery and make it
100% wick-free.
If you are a diaper sewing WAHM or if you sew diapers for your own children,
consider sending us some diaper cuts so that you can jazz them up with embroidery!
Please note that we cannot take responsibility for lost or damaged items, so
don't send anything extremely valuable or irreplaceable!

type of design. Where can I search for additional designs?
If you've searched our embroidery
gallery, diaper
embroidery page, and emailed us
about a particular type of design and we don't carry it you are welcome to search
through the many different online embroidery sites. A few of our favorites are
listed below. If you find something you like, you can purchase the design from
the site and send us the embroidery file so that we can embroider it on the
item of your choice. Please check with us before purchasing to get a price quote
and to make sure that the design is the proper format and size!
Alternatively, you can send us a link to the design and we can purchase it and
add the cost of the design to the embroidery and item charges. Please note that
payment for the design will be required before we purchase it.

If you find something you like please send us a link to the design so that we
can make sure it isnt too large or complex. We will give you a price estimate
and you can either purchase the design from the site and send us the embroidery
file via e-mail, or we can purchase it and add the cost of the design to the
embroidery and item charges.
Are all of your designs listed
in your gallery and website?
We have hundreds of designs that aren't listed in our embroidery
gallery or diaper
embroidery page. Please e-mail us with specific design requests - just because
you don't see it online doesn't mean we don't have it!
Can you turn any image I send
you into an embroidery design?
Unfortunately, we do not offer a custom digitizing service. Creating embroidery
designs is a time consuming process with a huge learning curve, and it takes
a special kind of software. The process can be pricey, but there are many companies
that do offer this service. We will be happy to help you find a company to work
with and you can send the completed design file to us to embroider.
I really like one of the designs
you offer, except for this one minor detail... How hard is it to alter a design?
If you would like something made more girly or more gender neutral, or are looking
for something to match a specific color scheme, it is very easy to change the
colors in any design.
If you love one of our designs but would like to get rid of some small detail
(for example, stripes on a lizard or stars in the background of a sky scene)
it might be possible to remove that detail from the design. Just e-mail us with
your request and we can let you know if its a possibility!
How do I care for my embroidered
items?
You can wash your embroidered pocket diapers the same way you wash your non-embroidered
pocket diapers, but be sure to fold back any hook and loop tape (such as Aplix
or Velcro) when doing laundry to avoid scuffing the embroidery.
You can turn your embroidered tees and bodysuits inside out when washing to
preserve the embroidery. Most of the embroidery thread we use is colorfast but
it is still best to avoid bleach entirely.
The PUL layer is coming off of my
pocket diaper! What do I do?
This is a very rare occurrence, but if it happens please contact
us. We will have you mail the diaper to us so that we can re-laminate it.
